New Longview is located on the site of the former Longview Farm, originally built in 1914 by famous Kansas Citian and wealthy lumber baron R.A. Long. Rich with history and architectural significance, the farm eventually fell into disrepair and many of the historic buildings were torn down or otherwise demolished.
Box Real Estate Development has partnered with historic redevelopment specialist Sunflower Development to complete historic renovations of the following remaining historic structures:
- Longview Mansion
- Longview Dairy Barn & Milk House
- Longview Calf & Shelter Barn
- Longview Pergola
- Old Longview Lake
The primary funding source, a unique preservation tax increment financing vehicle, has been approved and put into motion with future project phases to be announced as funds become available.
